His track record of success, tremendous energy and enthusiasm has prompted him to become a highly sought after asset. This week’s Wine Tasting Event will be a suitable introduction and an opportunity for our customers to sample some of Amato’s cultured Italian Cuisine first hand!

Chef Bruno Amato is originally from Nicotera, Calabria, in Southern Italy. Since settling in the US Amato has established himself as an executive chef and culinary expert. Houston, Texas is now his home, where his formula for incorporating his rich culinary heritage with Italian recipes and dishes prepared for the discerning cultured American palette is expected to be met with much success.
Amato’s work as a chef has provided him with the opportunity to travel extensively in the US. He worked his way up to the head Chef position at Il Forniao Restaurant at the Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. He then moved to Il Forniao’s Wells Fargo Center location in Sacramento, a move which merited the award of Top Chef Sacramento.
Along with this he has featured regularly on the SoCal Restaurant Show, speaking extensively about his Italian Heritage, Recipes, wide knowledge of Italian Cuisine and work at Paisano’s Italian Restaurant at the Pechanga Resort & Casino.
Specialities include hand made pizzas and pastas and Amato is well known for his traditional Arancini de riso, lobster ravioli, and a plethora of fresh seafood and sauce pairings.
It is precisely these credentials that brought Amato to Mascalzone’s attention and why he is such a great addition to the restaurant and catering service on offer.

Wine Tasting Event at Mascalzone Houston 11/10
This Thursday sees a great opportunity for Chef Amato to showcase his culinary skills. Mascalzone Houston will be featuring a selection of Wines for tasting from the Cantine Tinazzi Winery.
The evening will be hosted by Federico Micheletti and Chef Amato will be preparing a pairing a four course set menu featuring dishes and recipes tailored to compliment the Wines.
